MORE WRITERS ANNOUNCED FOR LITERALLY LITERARY AT LOOPALLU

Ullapool Book Festival is delighted to announce more writers for their Literally Literary tent at Loopallu on Saturday 1 October.

Singer/songwriter James Yorkston’s first novel Three  Craws was published by Freight Books in the spring to much acclaim. UBF is thrilled to have him at their tent to read from the book and to talk about it with Loopallu regular Vic Galloway. James Yorkston is one of the UK’s leading singer/songwriters with an international following. He has recorded twelve albums and was an early member of the Fence Collective.

Also appearing at the tent will be the young performer and poet Harry Giles. Harry, who was brought up in Orkney, has been shortlisted for two major literary prizes with his first collection Tonguit – the Forward Poetry Prize Best First Collection award and the Edwin Morgan Poetry Award. He was BBC Scotland Slam Champion in 2009.  Ullapool Book Festival are delighted that one of Scotland’s outstanding performers is joining them.

Already announced as appearing are Miles Hunt, the lead singer with The Wonder Stuff, who will talk about his latest volume of diaries with BBC’s Mark Radcliffe, and Grace Maxwell and Edwyn Collins in conversation with Vic Galloway.

They will all be appearing on the Saturday of Loopallu. On the Friday (30 September) and at other times on Saturday the Literally Literally tent will be a quiet space/reading room with a big selection of books for festival goers to choose from and to take away for free to finish later.
